An Eye Below Zero will be a great show for all the family, full of behind the scenes stories, illustrated by Doug’s wonderful images and clips from the TV series. He’ll talk about diving under the ice with Weddell seals, making friends with whales, over wintering with Emperor Penguins and NOT being eaten by polar bears.

His photographic awards include eight Emmy’s and five BAFTA’s. He is an Honorary Fellow of the Royal Photographic Society and of the Royal Scottish Geographical Society. In 2018 he was awarded the RSGS Mungo Park Medal.

‘He cheerfully endures conditions more uncomfortable and for longer periods than anyone I know. He has an uncanny understanding of animals that tells him what the animals are about to do before they actually do it.’  David Attenborough

Doug will have prints for sale on the night, with 10% of sales going to Valley Arts.
